What Makes The Everest Trader's Incense Different?
If you've explored our collection, you may have noticed something unusual. We don't focus on a single incense maker, a single region, or a single style of incense. Instead, we spend our time searching for exceptional fragrances wherever they're made.
That philosophy is what makes The Everest Trader different.

We Travel to Find the Best Incense
Every year, we travel throughout India and Nepal, visiting incense makers, artisan workshops, and long-established family businesses in search of fragrances that deserve a place in our collection.
From bustling cities in southern India to the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan foothills of Nepal, every trip is an opportunity to discover something new. Occasionally we'll find a fragrance we've been searching for for years. Other times, it's an unexpected blend tucked away in a small workshop that becomes a customer favorite.
Our goal isn't to offer the most incense, it's to offer incense worth discovering.
We Work With Many Different Incense Makers
Rather than limiting ourselves to one manufacturer, we work with respected incense producers across India, Nepal, and Bali.
Each maker has their own style, traditions, and signature fragrances. Some specialize in classic hand-rolled Indian masala incense, while others are known for temple incense, Himalayan herbal blends, resin-rich fragrances, or distinctive floral aromas.
By working with many different producers, we're able to offer one of the most diverse selections of traditional incense available, allowing you to explore authentic fragrances from across the region in one place.

Every Fragrance Is Personally Selected
Not every incense we encounter ends up on our website.
Before introducing a new fragrance, we spend time burning it, comparing it with similar blends, and evaluating its overall quality. We pay attention to how it burns, how the fragrance develops, and whether it offers something genuinely different from what we already carry.
If it doesn't meet our standards, we simply don't offer it.
This careful selection process allows us to build a collection based on quality and character rather than quantity alone. If you're new to traditional incense, our Incense Discovery Sets are an excellent way to compare different fragrance styles and discover your favorites.
Relationships Matter
One of the most rewarding parts of our travels has been the friendships we've built along the way.
Many of the people we work with have dedicated their lives to traditional incense making. Their knowledge has often been passed from one generation to the next, and we're grateful to work directly with makers who continue these traditions today.
These relationships allow us to work with respected makers including Haridas Madhavdas Sugandhi (HMS), Meena Supreme, Vinasons, Natural Incense Company, and other traditional incense houses.
These relationships give us access to unique fragrances, limited-production blends, and new creations long before they become widely available.
More importantly, they allow us to support the people behind the incense, not just the finished product.
Simplicity Over Wasteful Packaging
Over the past several years, we've watched many brands move toward elaborate luxury packaging, heavy boxes, magnetic closures, foam inserts, and decorative materials that are often discarded moments after opening.
We've chosen a different approach.
Whenever possible, we prefer simple, practical packaging that protects the incense while minimizing unnecessary waste. We'd rather invest in exceptional fragrances and support the artisans who make them than spend resources on packaging that's destined for the recycling bin.
This philosophy also reflects how we work. We aren't a large corporation buying through layers of distributors or anonymous factories. We work directly with many of the people who create our incense, building long-term relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared appreciation for traditional incense making.
One of the things we value most is partnering with small, family-run businesses and established incense makers who care deeply about their craft and the people behind it. During our travels throughout India, Nepal, and Bali, we've seen firsthand how many of these workshops operate, not as large production facilities, but as close-knit teams where skills are passed down through generations and employees are treated like family.
For us, authenticity isn't just about the fragrance. It's about supporting the people who create it, reducing unnecessary waste whenever possible, and offering thoughtfully selected incense that speaks for itself.

More Than an Online Incense Store
The Everest Trader isn't simply a marketplace for incense.
It's a carefully curated collection built through years of travel, exploration, and relationships with artisans across India, Nepal, and Bali. Every fragrance represents something we've chosen because we believe it's worth sharing.
Whether you're searching for traditional Nag Champa, rich agarwood oud, creamy sandalwood, floral lotus blends, Tibetan incense, or something entirely new, we hope our collection inspires you to discover a fragrance that becomes a lasting favorite.
Thank you for supporting a small business that believes the best incense is found by exploring, listening, learning, and working directly with the people who create it.
